Fractional resurfacing can sound a little intimidating to Charlotte, NC residents. But, in actuality, it is a noninvasive way for people to fight signs of aging. Our skin is often one of the first places we start to show signs of aging. Wrinkles begin to form, we lose elasticity in our face causing hollowed-out cheeks. We can even start to develop skin spots. All this can leave us feeling self-conscious and looking less than our best.

The team at Dermatology Specialists of Charlotte can help. One tool at our disposal is fractional resurfacing by HALO. We’ll go over how it works, and what you can expect, below.

Fractional resurfacing is a type of laser treatment

Fractional resurfacing is a type of laser treatment that targets skin damage at just the right depth. Here’s what you can expect during your treatment:

  1. Your clinical may place a topical anesthetic on the area to be treated about 30 minutes prior to your treatment beginning. This helps reduce any discomfort you may feel during treatment.
  2. Motion tracking technology is used to measure the area that is being treated by fractional resurfacing.
  3. Your clinical will then treat each measured section by rolling the Halo handpiece over the skin.
  4. The system will recognize when the treatment is complete.

One of the great things about this treatment is that it requires no downtime. Once the system recognizes you are done, you can return to normal activities. However, you need to keep your skin protected from the sun for 24 hours after you have fractional resurfacing. You may also experience some peeling in that time.

Charlotte, NC residents can get younger, healthier-looking skin through fractional resurfacing. If you are interested in learning more about this procedure, including if it is a good option for you, be sure to contact our office to schedule your consultation.
