Halo can help Charlotte, NC residents look younger and more refreshed. But, before you decide to have this treatment, it is important you know how it works and the role collagen plays in your skin’s appearance. We’ll cover the information you need to know before you have this procedure.
Wrinkles, fine lines, oh my
Did you know that after age 30, we lose 1 percent of our collagen each year? This fact may not be scary if you don’t know what exactly collagen is. Collagen is produced in your skin and what gives your skin its elasticity. As we lose collagen, signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, and even sun spots can start to appear. To boost collagen production and fight signs of aging, many patients and dermatologists turn to Halo treatments.
When you go for your treatment, your doctor will first measure the area you are targeting with tracking technology. This helps ensure an even treatment. Then, your doctor will treat each area with the Halo hand piece, rolling it over the area until the system determines that treatment is complete. To help keep your comfortable, your doctor will likely apply a topical to the area prior to starting the laser treatment.
Results occur over time
After your Halo treatment, your skin needs time to heal and produce more collagen. That means it may take two to five days for you to start to see results. But, your skin will continue to improve over the next month or two, giving you great skin again.
It is important to note that you may require more than one Halo treatment to get the results you want. Depending on the size of the area you need treated and the severity, your doctor may recommend multiple treatments to give you the skin you desire.
