Q. What is BBL?
A. BBL is also known as Broadband Light Therapy or Forever Young BBL. This treatment uses broadband light to heat up the upper layers of your skin. The areas of your skin that are being targeted will absorb this light which stimulates your skin cells to generate new collagen. This, in turn, helps restore your skin, making it smoother and younger looking.
Q. What is collagen and why is it important?
A. Collagen is what gives your skin its elasticity. As we age, our collagen production slows down and stops, which is what causes our skin to lose this elasticity and develop wrinkles or saggy areas. By boosting collagen production, your skin will plump up and start to look fresh again.
Q. What all can BBL treat?
A. In addition to reducing or eliminating fine lines and wrinkles, BBL can also help get rid of sunspots. IT can also eliminate many of the fine vessels that cause redness and pigmented lesions.
Q. Will I need more than one treatment?
A. Yes. Most people require about three to five, spaced at two to four weeks apart. This can vary, however, based on the severity of the area being treated. Your doctor can discuss how many treatments will be needed to give you the results you desire at your consultation.
Q. How long does it take to recover from a BBL treatment?
A. One of the benefits of using BBL is that it has virtually no downtime. It is noninvasive and gentle, so most people can return to work and even apply makeup right after treatment. You most likely will not need to take time off or rearrange your schedule after.
You may, however, have some redness to your skin immediately after treatment which may leave you looking flushed. This usually fades within a few hours. Be sure to ask your doctor about any recovery questions you have.
